PROJECT OVERVIEW

We were introduced to a growing accountancy firm in Tenterden, Kent via a trusted cloud desktop partner specialising in Citrix Cloud solutions. Whilst the firm had already successfully adopted cloud desktops, their on-site network infrastructure had not kept pace, resulting in performance, reliability, and usability challenges. Our role was to design and deliver a modern, structured, and scalable network environment to support their cloud-first operations.

Structured Network Infrastructure

  • Replaced cabinet and reorganised cabling
  • Colour-coded patching (grey laptop docks, purple printers, yellow phones, black access points)
  • Devices labelled and asset tracked

Switching & Network Design

  • Dual-switch design (standard + PoE)
  • PoE used only where required (cost optimisation)
  • Management VLAN enforced
  • Unused ports disabled

Connectivity & Routing

  • New router/firewall
  • FTTP upgrade

Site-To-Site Integration

  • VPN connectivity between sites for services such as printing

Performance Optimisation

  • QoS applied to Teams audio, video and signalling

Wireless Network

  • Access points per floor
  • Staff, guest, and management SSIDs

Cabling Improvements

  • New cabling to optimise layout and reliability

We had already moved to cloud desktops, but the experience in the office just wasn't where it needed to be. Since the upgrade, everything is faster, more reliable, and far easier for our team to use day to day. The difference in Teams call quality alone has been a huge improvement.
