Prerequisites
· Supported manufacturer NAS hardware.
· Sufficient storage capacity and suitable disk configuration.
· Reliable network and power provision.
· NAS must be in vendor support and less than 5 years old.
· Hardware should be covered by a valid manufacturer warranty.
· Administrative access to NAS and network environment.
Setup
· Initial NAS setup and network configuration.
· Storage pool, volume and share configuration.
· User, group and permissions configuration.
· Firmware update to latest stable version.
· Security hardening including credentials and remote access controls.
· Backup, replication or snapshot configuration where included.
· Monitoring and alerting setup.
· Testing of access, permissions and storage health.
· Documentation of configuration.
Maintenance
· Storage and disk health monitoring.
· Firmware and security update checks.
· Access and permissions review.
· Capacity and utilisation monitoring.
· Snapshot/backup monitoring where included.
· Security posture review.
· Lifecycle and warranty tracking.
Support
· Troubleshooting access, storage or performance issues.
· Disk failure guidance and replacement coordination.
· Permission and share configuration changes.
· Backup or replication issue support where included.
· Vendor escalation and warranty coordination.
· Recovery support within agreed backup/recovery scope.
