Prerequisites
· Supported manufacturer managed switch.
· Switch must be in vendor support and less than 5 years old.
· Hardware should be covered by a valid manufacturer warranty.
· Administrative access to switch and network topology.
· Appropriate power, rack space and cabling available.
Setup
· Initial managed switch configuration.
· VLAN, trunk, access port and management IP configuration.
· Firmware update to stable version.
· PoE configuration where applicable.
· Security baseline configuration.
· Monitoring and alerting setup.
· Configuration backup and documentation.
Maintenance
· Switch health and uptime monitoring.
· Port, PoE and uplink monitoring where available.
· Firmware/security update checks.
· Configuration backup validation.
· VLAN and port configuration review.
· Asset lifecycle tracking.
Support
· Troubleshooting connectivity, VLAN, PoE and port issues.
· Configuration changes within agreed scope.
· Switch replacement or restore from backup where required.
· Vendor escalation and warranty coordination.
· Coordination with router, Wi-Fi, CCTV and VoIP services where relevant.
